An Alfacinha is a traditional inhabitant of Lisbon. Today, complete a range of an Alfacinha’s daily tasks in teams to get a taste of the real Lisbon. Go to the barbershop for a shave, enjoy a typical pastry such as the “Pastéis de Nata” or indulge in a delightful smoked ham and cheese board. Perhaps travel with the Gloria and Santa Justa’s elevators, buy a traditional can of sardines as well as some delicious sweets or even propose a toast with a “ginginha” (sour cherry liquor).
Throughout the day, the teams use their passport and vouchers to do all the tasks and take pictures, which build a portrait of their downtown Lisbon’s adventure. There’s a competitive element as the teams compete to win the task.
Discover Belém
Why not enjoy an unforgettable tour of one of Lisbon’s noble areas, Belém? The area is renowned for its role in the Era of the Discoveries and boasts iconic buildings from the 15th and 16th century. The Royal Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located on a slope of the Mountain of Sintra. Once the residence of many Portuguese Kings, it is well worth the visit. Sintra is excellent for shopping, souvenirs and handicraft, and offers a great location to enjoy time at leisure to explore local small shops and cafés away from the hustle and bustle of Lisbon.
